Channi abused Khatri community with his offensive words: Raghav Chadha

Date:

Chandigarh, 6 December
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national spokesperson, MLA from Delhi and in-charge of Punjab affairs Raghav Chadha has accused Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi of uttering abusive words about the Khatri (Raghav Chadha’s caste) community. Mr. Chadha said that the Chief Minister Mr. Channi had abused the whole Khatri community by saying these offensive words which is causing outrage and anger against the Chief Minister in the Khatri community of Punjab.
Addressing media persons at the party headquarters here on Monday, Raghav Chadha expressing his anger said, “The sand mafia is operating in the state under the patronage of Chief Minister Channi and after his expose (in Jindapur), disgruntled Chief Minister Channi had used offensive words in front of the media in Ropar about my caste, creed and community.”
Raghav Chadha said, “I can bear whatever Chief Minister Channi said about me but my caste and Khatri society will never tolerate. Punjab has a large Khatri community. Chief Minister Channi should not insult the Khatri caste and community. Why does the Chief Minister want to be enraging the Khatri community with such comments? ”
Mr. Chadha said that he did not want to repeat the words of Chief Minister Mr. Channi as people of all communities in Punjab live together under one umbrella. He said that Punjab is a land of Gurus, where people from all religion and caste are respected so with his offensive words against a particular community Chief Minister has disrespected Punjab and Punjabiyat.
