Channi hits out at NDA government, alleges government trying to sabotage farmers’ protest

Date:

Chandigarh, December 9- Punjab Cabinet Minister Charanjit Singh Channi said here today that instead of resolving the issues of the farmers, the union government was trying to intimidate the Punjab Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh by filing ED and CBI cases.

In a statement issued here, Channi said that the BJP government should refrain from such acts as the people of the state, the Congress party, and the state government was standing with the Chief Minister.

He alleged that the NDA government has been trying to sabotage the farmers’ protest and ministers are adamant and insensitive to the peasantry which is evident that they are not ready to accept the demands raised by the farmers.

Channi said that Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh has already passed four bills in the assembly to nullify the center’s laws and the BJP government in the center is not able to digest the historic bills.

The Minister said that history reveals Capt Amarinder Singh always stands rock solid with the people of Punjab and even resigned from Lok Sabha for the state’s interest or termination of water agreement bills.
