Charge sheet issued against 2 for wrong recruitment on scheduled caste seat

After the intervention of the Punjab State Commission for Scheduled Castes, the Local Bodies Department has issued a charge sheet against two executive officers of the department and the former Municipal Council President in a five year old case of wrong recruitment of ETT teacher on scheduled caste seat.

Mrs. Tajinder Kaur (Retd. IAS), Chairperson Punjab State Commission for Scheduled Castes said that according to the letter from the Local Bodies Department a charge sheet has been issued under Punjab Civil Services (Punishment and Appeal) Rules, 1970 against Rajneesh Sood, Executive Officer, Nagar Panchayat Chamkaur Sahib and Gurbakhshish Singh, Executive Officer Doraha (Ludhiana) whereas a show cause notice has been issued against Vijay Kumar, former President, Municipal Council, Morinda. A written reply has been sought from the them within 21 days.

Pertinently mention that Gurdhian Singh resident of Morinda had lodged a complaint before commission on May 21, 2015 alleging that Municipal Council, Morinda has recruited Rajni Bala, wife of Rajneesh Sood (then Accountant) as ETT teacher wrongly on Scheduled Caste seat, who was not a Scheduled Caste. Education Department and the Local Bodies Department have investigated the matter in detail.

Local Bodies Department had initiated action against the selection committee which were included Vijay Kumar (President Municipal Council), Gurbakhshish Singh (Executive Officer Municipal Council Morinda), Gurnam Singh (Block Primary Education Officer, Morinda) Bhupinder Singh (Tehsil Welfare Officer, Chamkaur Sahib), T Singh (Athletic Coach Sports Department, Ropar, Punjab) in the case of wrong recruitment of teacher.
