Fatehgarh Churian, Oct 3: Akali Dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal today claimed that the Capt Amarinder Singh government was a “puppet government” being remote-controlled from Delhi.
“I have learnt that the Chief Minister before taking an important decision calls up the Gandhi family for permission to go ahead,” he claimed, while addressing an election rally in favour of BJP candidate Swaran Salaria.
Sukhbir dared local MLA and Cabinet Minister Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa to file a case against him.
“I challenge Bajwa to get an FIR registered against me and see the repercussions. I am the president of the SAD and it will be right for him to take me head-on rather than play games of political vendetta with my workers,” he said.
When contacted, Tript said: “I challenge Sukhbir Badal to name even a single SAD worker who has been booked in a false case.”
Taking a pot shot at Congress candidate Sunil Jakhar, Sukhbir said his (Jakhar’s) native village was Panjkosi in Abohar Assembly segment, but “unfortunately for him even his village sarpanch is not a Congress man”.
