Chandigarh, May 17: Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh has sought the inclusion of 13 road projects in the Bharatmala Pariyojana. He also wants seven new road projects to be declared as national highways.
The Chief Minister has written to Union Minister of Road Transport, Highways and Shipping Nitin Gadkari, seeking his intervention in the matter.
The 13 road projects, covering 436.48 km, will come up at a cost of Rs1737.20 crore.
These are Ludhiana-Hambra-Sidhwan Bet-Dharamkot-Kot Ise Khan, Patran to Moonak, Phillaur-Nagar-Rahon, Morinda-Kainaur-Ropar and others.
The seven roads which the Chief Minister wants to be declared as national highways include Patiala-Patran-Moonak, Landran-Sirhind, Gurdaspur-Sri Hargobindpur, Beas-Mehta-Batala, Ludhiana-Mattewara-Rahon, Kaputhala-Nakodhar-Nurmehal-Phillaur and Kaputhala-Kartarpur-Kishangarh-Adampur.
