Comply with the ‘33% reservation to women rules’ strictly; Aruna Chaudhary to HoDs

Punjab Social Security, Women and Child Development Minister Mrs. Aruna Chaudhary, on Thursday, asked all the heads of departments to strictly adhere to ‘The Punjab Civil Services (Reservation of Posts for Women) Rules, 2020 to ensure 33 percent reservation to women under direct recruitment in government jobs.

In a press communiqué issued here today, she informed that the social security, women and child development department has written a letter to all the Additional Chief Secretaries, Financial Commissioners, divisional commissioners, Principal Secretaries, Administrative secretaries and deputy commissioners with the copy of ‘The Punjab Civil Services (Reservation of Posts for Women) Rules, 2020, whereby all the departments/corporations/boards and other government bodies have been asked to strictly comply to the rules in true spirits in next recruitment process for vacant posts.

The Cabinet Minister said that this significant decision has been taken to create more employment opportunities for the women of the state for the empowerment of the women and create the atmosphere of gender-neutral equality. “The Punjab Civil Services (Reservation of Posts for Women) Rules, 2020 will provide 33 per cent reservation for women in the direct recruitment to the posts in government, as well as recruitment to Boards and Corporations in Group A, B, C and D posts.”, she added.
