Chandigarh, March 17: The Member of Parliament from Sangrur and AAP state president Bhagwant Mann on Sunday accused Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh of violating the model code of conduct by announcing more fake sops for the people of Punjab. In a press statement, Mann said that Capt. is repeating the tactics of luring the voters by making fake promises as he did during Vidhan Sabha elections.
Mann said that addressing the press on the ocassion of 2nd anniversary of his govt., Capt. again promised to waive off complete loan of the farmers of state. He said the promises of taking up Lokpal Bill, conflict of interest Bill and a bill to secure properties of NRI in coming Vidhan Sabha session were made during the interaction. He said the whole bunch of lies is a complete violation of model code of conduct as well as the breach of trust of people of state. He said that AAP will file a complaint to the election commission in this regard.
Terming the present Congress govt. as worst of all times, Mann challenged Capt. Amarinder and chairman of manifesto committee Manpreet Singh Badal for a debate on the work done by Congress govt. in last 2 years. He said that the govt. has failed to fulfil even a single promise written in the manifesto. He criticised Capt. Amarinder for befooling the innocent people of state on the issues of drugs, jobs, loan waiver.
Repeating his demand of Election Commission declaring election manifesto as a legal document, Mann said it shoal political parties must be made bound to fulfill promises written in the manifesto after attining power. He demanded that failing to do so the EC must have power to cancel the affiliation of that political party and bar that politician from contesting elections who make fake promises with the people.
