Chandigarh, June 2: The Cooperation Minister, Punjab, S. Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa has ordered a high level probe after the scam pertaining to the bunglings in the Tarsikka Cooperative Bank and the 5 cooperative societies falling under its jurisdiction came to light. The high level teams, comprising the senior audit officers of the other societies, of the cooperation department would thoroughly probe the matter.
The decision to this effect was taken in the meeting with the Registrar, Cooperative Societies Mr. Vikas Garg and the MD of the Punjab State Cooperative Bank Mr. Varun Roojam.
The minister further said that it was brought to his notice that a huge scam is underway in the 5 cooperative societies falling under the jurisdiction of the Tarsikka Cooperative Bank namely Tarsikka, Saidoke Lehal, Bhattike, Chugawan Sadhpur and Kohala, from the year 2012-13. The MD of the Punjab State Cooperative Bank Mr. Varun Roojam was sent to take stock of the situation on ground and conduct a preliminary enquiry which led to the unearthing of the scam.
S. Randhawa further added that after the preliminary enquiry, it was decided that the issue demanded a high level probe. He assured that the matter would be probed very minutely and nobody found guilty would be spared.
