Day 17: Govt agencies, private traders procure 6.6 lakh MT wheat in Punjab

Chandigarh, May 1: The Government agencies and private Traders have procured 662331 metric tonnes of wheat in Punjab on 17th day of procurement.

Disclosing this here today, an official Spokesperson said  that out of the total 662331 procurement from various procurement centres in the State, the Government agencies procured  659583 MT of wheat 2748 MT has been procured by the private traders (arhtyias).

He further  said that PUNGRAIN has procured 155748 metric tonnes, MARKFED 130734 metric tonnes and PUNSUP procured  135047 metric tonnes while Punjab State Warehousing Corporation 108343 MT wheat respectively. The Centre government agancy FCI has procured 85998 MT wheat. Apart from this Pungrain Procured 43713 MT wheat for public distribution in the Punjab.

Progressive procurement by all the procuring agency is 8096828 MT.

He further said today 461700 LMT wheat lifted from the Mandies and payment of rupees 9278.29 cr.has been made for the procurement of wheat.
