Day 8 procurement: 584541 MT wheat procured

Chandigarh, April 22: The Government agencies and private traders have procured 584541 metric tonnes of wheat in Punjab on eighth day of procurement.

Disclosing this, an official spokesperson said out of the total 584541MT procurement from various procurement centres in the State, the Government agencies procured 584043MT of wheat 498 MT has been procured by the private traders (arhtiyas).

He further said that PUNGRAIN has procured 131905 metric tonnes, MARKFED 145584 metric tonnes and PUNSUP procured 130176 metric tonnes while Punjab State Warehousing Corporation 85972 MT wheat. The Centre government agency FCI has procured 48959 MT wheat.

Apart from this Pungrain Procured 41447 MT wheat for public distribution in the Punjab.
Progressive procurement by all the procuring agency is 2149737 MT.
