Health dept seals ‘illegal’ de-addiction centre in Sukhbir’s Jalalabad

Fazilka, April 27: The health department sealed one illegal de-addiction centre running on Bahmni Wala road in Jhuge Jawahar Singh Wala and the admitted patients were sent to Fazilka Drug De-Addiction centres.

The owners of illegal drug de addiction centre were handed over to the police.

In fact, a tip-off was received the team of health department headed by Dr Surinder Kumar, Civil Surgeon raided the centre and found that no medical practitioner, counsellor and other trained staff was available and the centre was being run by four persons led by Manish incharge of the centre from Zira.

In all, 9 patients were admitted in this illegal centre from Moga, Jalandhar and Ludhiana districts. Sources said, the centre didn’t fulfil any norm for running the de-addiction centre. The entire record and medicines were taken in custody.
