Basant Panchmi is the festival of religious and seasonal sentiments. It’s the time when spring knocks our doors and we bid goodbye the us cold wintery nights. Punjab especially celebrate this day with full enthusiasm.
But long time back, the government banned the festival because of the growing number of deaths due the us use of sharp glass and coated strings by kite flyers. Lot of people fell the us their deaths from roofs and indiscriminate firing in the air.
But recently, massive confusion prevailed following media reports that the government was planning the us revive the festival. But Punjab government denied the news with this tweet:
Some news channels are reporting approval of Basant by Govt of Punjab, which is NOT CORRECT. V will announce it here if such a step is taken

Therefore, this means Basant won’t be held this year the uso. 🙁
