Jalandhar, May 8: Mehatpur SHO Parminder Singh Bajwa, who had lodged an FIR against Shahkot Congress candidate Hardev Singh Ladi Sherowalia three days ago, on Monday said he would not sign the case cancellation report with the ilaqa magistrate.
Claiming that he was to join on Monday, but had been forcibly sent on a five-day leave, he said even if some officiating SHO cancelled the FIR on his behalf, he would take up the matter in the High Court.
He said he wanted to build up a case and even wanted to approach the Election Commission of India, but his seniors kept him on radar and didn’t let him go. Bajwa said: “I had been marked the EC complaint after which I called up everyone, including the SSP, mining officers and even tehsildar asking them how to go about it but no one responded.”
Asked about the urgency to lodge the report at 4:26 am, he replied: “Is there any law which says you cannot file an FIR early morning? There were so many complaints against him and even the sting video. I followed my conscience. Had I not filed it then, no one would have let me do it later.”
“SSP Gurpreet Bhullar called me up and bashed me saying that the CM was extremely annoyed with him and his promotion would now be stuck. He then took me to his place and made me withdraw my resignation,” he alleged.
“I know that I will not be allowed to stay in the police force once the election code is lifted. But I am prepared for it. I own 46 acres of land and huge property in Kapurthala,” he said.
On the video clip over his entry into a city-based hotelwith a “woman” hours before lodging the FIR, he said: “He was my Nepali cook.”
