Did you know Gippy Grewal would have loved to play Goldy in ‘Carry On Jatta 2’?

Date:

Gippy Grewal and his character as Jass in the movie ‘Carry On Jatta’ became one of the cult comic characters in the Punjabi cinema. The way the respective part was written and the life that Gippy infused into it created magic on the screen. However, while speaking to us, Gippy said that besides Jass if there’s any role he would have loved to play on the camera, it would have been of Goldy.

“I would have tried playing Goldy, the character which is being played by Binnu Dhillon. The character has a lot of fun attached to it, at the same time it’s very strong. I remember when I heard the script of the first part, Carry On Jatta, I asked my director that can I play Goldy, to which he said if you will play Goldy, who will play Jass.”, added the actor-singer.

Though we don’t know who could have filled the shoes of Jass any better than Gippy, can’t deny the fact that the actor would have done equally remarkable as Goldy.

Gippy Grewal is a singer himself, so he also gave vocals to the songs of the movie. When asked, which song is his personal favourite from the soundtrack, he didn’t take much time to sing it out loud, “Ho gaane chakwein jehe laake…Baahan vich baahan paake….Aaja bhangra pa laiye”

What’s the first thought that strikes your mind when the movie interval comes? Popcorn time? Well, according to Gippy, in ‘Carry On Jatta 2’, interval time will be laughter time. “I had the most fun while shooting the interval scene. A scene like that was not in the earlier part; I can’t reveal much about it, but it’s just hilarious.”
