Document verification work of desirous to go abroad postponed due to Corona

Punjab NRI Affairs Department has postponed document verification work of those desirous to go abroad till further orders due to the growing threat of Corona epidemic.

Disclosing this here today, Mr. Kirpa Shankar Saroj, Additional Chief Secretary, NRI Department said that this decision has been taken in view of the increasing threat of Corona epidemic. He said that the work of verification of documents of persons, wishing to go abroad was being done at the office of Punjab Civil Secretariat-2, Sector-9, Chandigarh, which would be postponed from July 9 till further orders. The Additional Chief Secretary appealed to the people of the state not to visit the office. “People will be informed about the resumption of work when the situation returns to normal,” he added.
