Dr. Areet Kaur here today joined as the new Director Health Services (Family Welfare), Punjab. She is presently posted as Director National Health Mission, Punjab and took over the additional assignment of DHS(FW ), Punjab. She is MD Ophthalmology and joined the PCMS in the year 1990 as Eye Specialist in District Hospital Fatehgarh Sahib. Thereafter, she also remained posted in different hospitals of Punjab state. In year 2014 she got promoted as Senior Medical Officer posted at Sub Divisional Hospital Anandpur Sahib (District Roopnagar). In year 2015 she joined as Assistant Director at State Headquarter. She looked after many key programmes including National Programme for Control of Blindness and Health & Wellness Programme. Punjab State also got a National award for best performance in these programmes. In year 2021 Dr. Areet Kaur got promoted as Deputy Director and was posted as Director National Health Mission, Punjab.
While listing out the priorities she asked the staff members to provide time bound quality services and insisted on quick disposal of matters related to public. She stressed upon taking necessary steps to provide comprehensive healthcare services to the people of state and smooth implementation of National Health Programmes.
