Punjab Social Security, Women and Child Development Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur on Friday during her visit to Indore (Madhya Pradesh) met members of “Anand Service Society” the organization that brings deaf and speech impaired children into mainstream in society and learned about working system of the organization.
Divulging the details, Cabinet Minister said that during the meeting with this organization, she discussed problems of deaf and speech-impaired children.
Appreciating the work done by the Deaf and Speech Impaired Children’s Organization, Dr. Baljit Kaur said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Punjab Government is committed to the welfare of the Deaf and Speech Impaired children and She assured that the government will always support ready to help them.
Dr. Baljit Kaur said that in 2014, a boy from Pakistan, who was hearing and speech impaired, accidentally crossed the border and reached India by this organization in Indore. This boy was living under the supervision of the state “Anand Service Society” under the leadership of the Punjab government.
The minister said that this child welfare organization of Indore succeeded in sending the Pakistani boy back to his home in Pakistan after seven years in 2021 in coordination with the External Affairs Ministry of Government of India.
