Dr Karamjeet Singh appointed first VC of Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab state open university

Chandigarh, September 3: The Punjab Government has appointed Dr. Karamjeet Singh as the first Vice Chancellor of the Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University, who has joined today. He has been appointed for the period of three years with effect from date of assumption of office by him. Disclosing this here today official spokesperson of the Punjab Government said that notification in this regard has been issued and the terms and conditions of the appointment of Vice Chancellor would be notified separately.

 Spokesperson said that Dr. Karamjeet Singh is a prominent academician and an able administrator, who is masters in M.Com and Ph.D. in Finance. Dr. Karamjit holds 34 years of Teaching & Research Experience. He was presently working as Registrar, Panjab University, Chandigarh from September 30, 2018 onwards besides being a syndicate member of the university he has worked on various administrative posts in the university and also remained as member, UGC Expert committee.

Spokesperson further said that Dr. Karamjeet has also held the position of the President, Indian Accounting Association (2017-18) and awarded Best Business Academic Award 2017 by the Indian Commerce Association in a University, Jaipur on October 14, 2017. He also holds various other academic and administrative distinctions to his name.
