Chandigarh, April 25:
No one would leave the country when they have home, family and job here; this was the feeling of 408 youths who received appointment letters during a function held here at the Municipal Bhawan on Monday. These youth have been appointed for various positions in Local Government, General Administration, Public Works, and Technical Education and Industrial Training departments as part of the Punjab government’s drive to provide employment to maximum number of youth.
Tanvijot, a newly appointed clerk in General Administration department, said that it has been a matter of pride for her that she will be able to offer her services to the state. Tanvijot, a resident of Patiala, said that earlier she was thinking of moving to Canada or any other developed country to secure her future but now she will be able to stay close to her nearer and dearer. She said that after getting this opportunity she has made a firm decision to serve Punjab for lifetime. Tanvijot appreciated the recruitment campaign launched by the Punjab government to provide employment opportunities to the youth.
Meanwhile, Karamjit Singh of village Khanal Kalan district Sangrur also expressed similar views on receiving the appointment letter as a clerk in the General Administration department and appealed to his fellow youths to give priority to getting employment while staying here rather than going abroad. He said that he was also thinking about going abroad to earn fortune but at heart he always wanted to stay here. Karamjit said that now the employment provided by the Punjab Government, has enabled him to live a quality life while staying close to his family and friends.
Not only Tanvijot and Karamjit Singh, but almost all the youth present during the appointment letter distribution ceremony shared this opinion. The youth believed that even after investing a major chunk of their parents’ earnings abroad, a large part of their life would be spent in establishing themselves and building a home there. Availing employment opportunities being offered by the Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is million times better than going abroad, they expressed.
