Ensure availability of medicines, raise standard of cleanliness in government hospitals; Sekhri

Chandigarh, November 11: Punjab Health System Corporation Chairman Ashwani Sekhri on Thursday directed all the Civil Surgeons, Medical Superintendent, Deputy Medical Commissioners and Civil Hospital Jalandhar to raise the standard of cleanliness in government hospitals and also ensure availability of medicines across the state.

Chairman Mr Sekhri and Managing Director of Punjab Health Systems Corporation Mrs Surbhi Malik held a meeting with the health department officials by video conferencing, in which Sekhri advocated for “cleanliness and medicine” in the hospitals and asked officials to compile with his instructions diligently.

Mr Sekhri said that as per the directions of Chief Minister Mr Charanjit Singh Channi and Deputy Chief Minister Mr Om Prakash Soni, Punjab Health System Corporation was committed to providing the best health care facilities to the people of Punjab.

Speaking on the occasion, Managing Director Malik directed the officials to provide priority treatment to the elderly and disabled persons visiting the hospitals.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Punjab government under the Mission Kayakalp gives awards and cash prices annually to hospitals for maintaining cleanliness in the hospitals.

Meanwhile, Dr Raman Sharma, Director, Punjab Health System Corporation directed all the officers to follow the above directions busily.
