Ensure welfare schemes reach the workers: Anmol Gagan Maan

Date:

Chandigarh, July 23:

Punjab Labour Minister Ms Anmol Gagan Maan, on Saturday, instructed the department officials to not leave any stone unturned to resolve the problems faced by working class.

Presiding over a meeting, the Cabinet Minister directed to ensure benefits of labour welfare schemes trickle-down to each & every worker as Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Mann government has been running many welfare schemes to raise the living standard workers and their families.

Asking to make a plan to expedite the registration of construction workers under the Punjab Building and Construction Workers Welfare Board, Ms Anmol Gagan Maan said that awareness camps should be organized to register the construction workers and sensitise them about various schemes.

She also asked to ensure that construction workers should not face any difficulty in forms filling process and also save them from exploitation at the hands of agents, besides disposing of all pending applications under various schemes of Punjab Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board and Labour Welfare Board.

Taking a step towards smart governance, Welfare Board will launch a new mobile app “Punjab Usari Kirti Sewawan” or “PRUKS” under which construction workers would be able to register themselves with the Board and get information about the schemes run by the Board in seamless manner, she added.

She further informed that the app will be launched in Punjabi, Hindi and English for the convenience of workers, which can be downloaded from Google Play/App Store.
