Minister of Social Security, Women and Child Development Dr. Baljit Kaur said that the facility of a mobile data package of Rs. 2000 per year has been approved for each anganwadi centre to meet the urgent demand of the anganwadi workers and to implement the Poshan Tracker App in an efficient manner.

The Minister said that there are a total of 27,314 anganwadi centres in the state which will get a data package worth Rs 5,46,28000 per year.

The Minister said that POSHAN Abhiyaan is a flagship program of government for addressing malnutrition and improving the nutritional status of women and children. As part of continuous efforts to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the program, the Govt. of India launched POSHAN Tracker mobile application in 2021.

Dr. Baljit Kaur stated that the POSHAN Tracker is an innovative digital platform that aims to streamline the monitoring and tracking of nutrition-related interventions at the grassroots level. Recognising the crucial role of Anganwadi workers in implementing the POSHAN Abhiyaan, the Punjab government has approved allocating a dedicated data package to each Anganwadi centre. The Minister said that the data package, valued at Rs 2000 per year, will ensure that Anganwadi workers can access the necessary connectivity and resources to utilise the POSHAN Tracker effectively.

The allocation will be implemented immediately, enabling anganwadi workers to utilise the POSHAN Tracker optimally through their Smartphones. The AWWS and AWHS will also be eligible for an incentive of Rs 500 and 250 after fulfilling the criteria mentioned in the Guidelines of POSHAN Abhiyaan, Minister added.
