Examination for recruitment of teachers in border areas conducted

Under the direction of Punjab Education Minister Mr. Vijay Inder Singla, the Directorate of Education Recruitment has completed another phase of recruitment process by conducting written test today to fill the backlog of various posts in Master Cadre in Border Area.

According to a spokesperson of the education department, the examination was conducted by the Directorate of Education Recruitment at 18 different examination centers set up in Amritsar, Bathinda, Patiala and Ludhiana. Out of 3977 candidates, 3616 (90.923 per cent) appeared for the written test in English subject. Total 743 candidates (89.41 per cent) appeared for the recruitment of Science Master Cadre out of 831 candidates.

Dr. Jarnail Singh Kaleka, Assistant Director, Directorate of Education Recruitment said that 380 posts for backlog in English, 595 in Math, 518 in Science subject besides, 136 backlog posts of various subjects in disabled category will be filled in the Border Area. Apart from this 899 new posts of Master Cadre (English subject) will also be filled in Border Area. The department made adequate arrangements for this examination.

Secretary School Education Mr. Kirshan Kumar personally inspected the examination centers at Bathinda. The Secretary School Education had earlier warned about the strict action aganst cheating during the examination.
