FD approves release of ₹15 crore to three higher education institutes

Finance, Planning, Excise and Taxation Minister Advocate Harpal Singh Cheema on Saturday said that the Finance Department has given the approval to release Rs 15 crore for three higher education institutes, this week.

Disclosing this, Harpal Singh Cheema said that the Finance department has approved release of Rs 8.5 crore for two higher education institutes of the Majha region ; Rs. 6.75 crore to Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur University of Law, Kairon, Tarn Taran for construction work and Rs. 1.71 crore to IIM, Amritsar.

Cheema further added that the Finance Department has also given the approval to release the outstanding amount of Rs. 6.50 crore to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar State Institute of Medical Sciences, in one lump sum amount from the approved budget for the financial year 2022-23.

Finance Minister said that the Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has been committed to providing financial support to the educational institutions of the state to ensure that these institutes do not face any dearth of funds.
