Chandigarh, July 11:
A female Beldar of the Public Works Department has been promoted as a Road Inspector after the intervention of the Punjab State Commission for Scheduled Castes.
Mrs. Paramjit Kaur, the Ex-officio member of the commission, while disclosing this, said that Pooja Rani, the Beldar of PWD, had passed the qualifying examination for the promotion as Road Inspector in 2015 but she was not given due promotion at that time. Taking serious cognisance of the matter, the commission had sought reply from the concerned department, after which the Pooja Rani has been given her due promotion.
