2 booked for firing at Congress man’s house

Muktsar, July 25: After two motorcycle-borne persons allegedly opened fire at the house of local Congress leader Vakil Singh on Dalip Singh Marg here on Monday night, the police have booked two of his relatives in an attempt to murder case.

Vakil Singh claimed that he was watching television with his children on Monday night when two persons came on a motorcycle and knocked at the door. When he went to open it, they opened fire. “I have some property dispute with my brothers-in-law. I have a suspicion that they might have attacked,” he said.

Meanwhile, a police team reached the spot and collected five empty cartridges.

Tejinderpal Singh, Station House Officer, City Muktsar police station, said, “Gurdarshan Singh and Roop Lal of Patiala have been booked in an attempt to murder case. However, investigations are on.”
