Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Lal Chand Kataruchak hands over appointment letters to 10 clerks in Legal Meteorology wing

In accordance with the promise of the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann led State Government to provide jobs to the youth, the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Mr. Lal Chand Kataruchak today gave appointment letters to 10 newly recruited clerks in the Legal Meteorology wing at the Anaj Bhawan in Sector 39. The Minister exhorted the newly appointed candidates to work with utmost dedication and honesty.

On the occasion, the Minister, in a major step towards facilitating the common people and the traders to get their works connected with the legal Meteorology wing done, launched the initiative to align the work pertaining to the testing of measurement equipment with single window system. With this novel beginning, the traders can now apply for their measurement equipments through online mode sitting at their homes.

The main function of the legal meteorology wing is to ensure compliance with the Legal Meteorology Act, 2009 and the rules therein, and annual inspection & supervision of the measurement equipments, issuing new licenses to the manufacturers/dealers/repairers and renewal apart from the registration and supervision of the manufacturing units of the sealed materials for protecting the interests of the consumers.

The Controller, Legal Meteorology wing Parampal Kaur Sidhu was also present.
