Former MLA Randhawa’s son, NRI and businessman join AAP

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) gained strength on Friday when freedom fighters, son of a former MLA, an NRI from Canada and prominent businessman from Ludhiana, along with hundreds of their associates joined the party. AAP’s senior leader and Leader of Opposition (LoP) in the Punjab Assembly, Harpal Singh Cheema, MLA Principal Budhram and state general secretary Harchand Singh Barsat, formally inducted and welcomed dozens of eminent personalities from different walks of life, at the party headquarters here.

On the occasion, Harpal Singh Cheema said that the people from all walks of life were joining the AAP as they were impressed by the pro-people policies of the party and the work of Delhi’s Arvind Kejriwal government. Welcoming Parshotam Singh Randhawa, son of freedom fighter and two-time MLA Joginder Singh Randhawa, Harpal Singh Cheema said that his arrival had further strengthened the Aam Aadmi Party in the Majha constituency. Also, Ludhiana district vice-president of Akali Dal, Keshav Verma along with his associates has also joined the AAP; which has wiped out the Akali Dal in Ludhiana district.

Similarly, native of Fatehgarh Sahib and NRI, Maganmeet Singh Sarao has also joined the Aam Aadmi Party. Addressing the gathering, Parshotam Singh Randhawa said that AAP’s national convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has given the people of Punjab a political party which is seeking votes only in the name of work and not in the name of religion and caste. The leaders who joined the AAP said that they would work diligently to strengthen the party and fulfill the responsibility given to them.
