Former SDM of Patti in dock for embezzlement of funds

Tarn Taran, September 6: Ex-SDM Patti Anupreet Kaur along with five others has been booked by Patti police for embezzling Rs 1.63 crore from the government treasury.

The embezzlement allegedly took place between January 9, 2018 and February 11, 2019. The investigation of the case was handed over to present SDM Navraj Singh Brar and based on his report, SSP Tarn Taran gave the order to register a case.

The case was registered in the Patti police station strip on Thursday. At the time of filing this report, the police hasn’t arrested anyone.

The embezzled amount was part of payment made by the National Highway Authority for acquiring land for construction of the Jammu-Kashmir-Rajasthan National Road.
