Four arrested for illegal mining; 3 JCBs seized

Hoshiarpur, March 15:The district police have registered four cases in connection with illegal mining and arrested four persons in three cases. The police have also seized three tractor-trailers and three JCB machines.

Mining Officer Avtar Singh had complained that two JCB machines used for mining were found at Birampur village but there was no one present there and there was no registration number on the JCB.

The police registered a case and impounded the machines. In another case, while acting on the complaint of Mining Officer Omkar Singh, the Hariana police took possession of the tractor-trailer filled with sand and arrested accused Baljit Singh Kotli, while lodging an FIR against him for illegal mining.

Meanwhile, the Sadar police while taking action on the complaint of Mining Officer Iqbal Singh lodged a case against Kamal Deep Singh of Chak Sadhu and arrested him while seizing a sand-laden tractor-trailer.

The police of Garhdiwala arrested two accused, Surajdin of Sheikhupura and Shaukat Ali on the complaint of Mining Officer Onkar Singh, and took into their possession a JCB machine and a sand-laden tractor-trailer.
