Patiala, Feb 17: Gangster Ravicharan Singh alias Ravi Deol, who surrendered at a Sangrur court on January 30, was brought on production warrant by the Patiala police in an investigation related to the multi-crore sythentic drug case, in which former Punjab police cop Jagdish Singh Bhola is one of the accused.
Deol was produced in the court of additional chief judicial magistrate Raman Kumar who sent him to three-day police remand. A case under narcotics and psychotropic substances was registered against him in 2013, after the police recovered 7,200 narcotic capsules and an illegal pistol from his accomplices.
Deol was on the run since then and was declared proclaimed offender by the Patiala police.
It may be mentioned that Deol’s name cropped up during investigation Bhola, following which the police also recovered 5kg ice and 90kg pseudoephedrine, a banned performance-enhancing substance used by sportspersons, from his residence in Sangrur in 2013.
The police had sought seven-day police remand but the court has sent him on three-day police remand to investigate his role in the case.
