Ghanaur police station won’t be shifted: CM

Date:

CHANDIGARH, FEBRUARY 13: Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Wednesday ruled out any move to shift Ghanaur police station, currently located near the bus stand, to a different place.

In a reply to question raised by Ghanaur MLA Madan Lal Jalalpur, the Chief Minister said the present location and building of the police station, though close to the bus stand and the main market, was safe and suitable from security point of view.

The building of the police station was constructed near the main bazaar of the city in the year 2005, and there was no proposal to shift the police station to any other place, he said.

He, however, said that the state government was undertaking construction of new police stations and renovation of existing police stations as per the requirements under its modernisation programme to bring greater efficiency in the functioning of the police department.
