Chandigarh, July 17: The Punjab Government is all set to expedite and make alternate arrangements for providing jobs to the Youth of the state under the Ghar Gahr Rozgar Yojna flagship scheme despite of COVID-19 pandemic. The Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has directed the department to take all necessary steps to provide counselling and jobs to the Youth of the state in the private sector across the globe.
Disclosing this here today official spokesperson of the Punjab Government said that the department of employment generation , skill development & training to go online for providing counselling to the job aspirants and also provide online placement opportunities to Youth of the state.
He further said that to begin with the department is organizing a Webinar on “Emerging Dynamics in Employment of Youth post Covid-19- Challenges & Opportunities” to create the awareness amongst the Youth of Punjab regarding changed scenario of employment, emerging sectors and employment opportunities, so that they can prepare themselves to meet the requirements of the industry and other establishments and get employed. About 25,000 Students/ Professionals with backgrounds like Engineering, Management, Medicine, Pharmacy, Humanities, General graduates like BCA, BBA, B.Com etc are expected to attend the webinar.
The spokesperson said that the Webinar would be addressed by the eminent panellists from renowned companies like Microsoft, Ansys, Walmart, Pepsico, Dell, Amazon & B&WSSC. The Employment Generation and Training Minister Mr. Charanjit Singh Channi, Secretary Mr. Rahul Tiwari and other senior officers of the department would also interact with the Youth during the webinar.
The Spokesperson further said that the Webinar would be held at 3:00 PM on 24th July, 2020 in 2 sessions. The First session of 45 minutes would start at 3:00 PM and the Second session of 1 hour 15 minutes would begin at 3:45 PM. He said that a registration link for the Webinar has been created on the portal the interested youth can get them registered on the web portal of the department at http://pgrkam.com
