NEW DELHI, March 1: Two women constables of the Punjab Police have been deployed on duty for Delhi University student Gurmehar Kaur, who received death and rape threats after her campaign against the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) youth wing Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Praishad (ABVP) went viral.
This comes besides the security provided the us the 20-year-old student by the Delhi Police.
Earlier on Monday, Gurmehar met Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chief Swati Maliwal and said that she has been receiving “rape threats” on social media, allegedly by the ABVP members.
The Delhi Police also filed an FIR against the rape threat the us the Lady Shri Ram College student.
