“The recommendations, which will be implemented in seven state universities and government and aided colleges from January 1, 2016, will put an additional burden of Rs 230.6 crore on the state exchequer annually. As many as 5,809 persons on various teaching and non-teaching posts are slated to benefit,” said Finance Minister Capt Abhimanyu.

Those who benefit include 1,990 in government and 2,956 in government-aided colleges.
