Now, Haryana issues directions on giving protection to Kashmiri students

Chandigarh, February 24: The Haryana Police have issued directions to prevent acts of violence, discrimination against Kashmiris (including students) and other minorities in the state.

Stating this here on Sunday, Mohd Akil, ADGP, Law and Order, said a written communication had been issued to all Commissioners of Police, District Superintendents of Police, Superintendents of Police, Railways and Panchkula DCP to take all possible steps to ensure the safety and security of Kashmiri students, traders and others of the Kashmiri origin in the wake of the Pulwama attack.

They have been directed to take prompt and necessary action to prevent incidents of assault, threat, social boycotts and such other egregious acts against them.

He ordered reserve force in anti-riot gear be kept ready for movement at short notice and maintain close coordination with the state and Central intelligence agencies. The entire security apparatus be kept on high alert and strict action must be taken against anybody found indulging in disruptive activities, he said.
