Chandigarh, February 20: The Punjab and Haryana High Court has issued a criminal notice to Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Badal and party leader Bikram Singh Majithia.
Notice has been issued on the complaint filed by retired Justice Ranjit Singh.Both the leaders have been issued notice to appear before the court on March 25.
It has been learnt that Justice Ranjit Singh has filed a complaint against Badal and Majithia for alleged comments made over the former in connection with commission that he was solely the part of. Derogatory remarks were allegedly used by both the leaders against retired judge in August.
It may be mentioned that Justice Ranjit Singh Commission was constituted by Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh to inquire into Kotkapura and Behbal Kalan firing incidents and it was after the report submitted by the commission that SAD leaders allegedly used derogatory remarks against the complainant.
