Chandigarh, March 4
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab Senior Leader and Leader of Opposition Harpal Singh Cheema wrote a letter to Mr. Karuna Raju to express protest against the sale of Punjab Communication Limited (PCL) Mohali building. In his letter Harpal Singh Cheema said that PCL is abided by the instructions of Election Commission and they can’t sale building while code of conduct was in effect, so high level inquiry should be conducted in the matter and appropriate actions should be taken against the sale.
In a statement issued from the party headquarters on Friday, Harpal Singh Cheema said that the managing committee of Punjab Communication Limited (PCL) Mohali decided to sell their building at Plot No. 134, Industrial Area Phase 8 Mohali during Punjab Election 2022, which is a violation of government rules and standard election code of conduct. He said that Punjab Communication Employees Union Mohali had been vehemently opposing the sale of the building, hence the sale of the building was a big deception to the employees and the people of the state.
Cheema said that Congress and SAD-BJP governments had sold the properties of Punjab government and semi-government institutions for pennies but the Aam Aadmi Party has been strongly opposing the sale of government properties and public sectors. He said that with the formation of Aam Aadmi Party government in Punjab a high-level inquiry would be conducted into the sales of government properties and appropriate action would be taken against the culprits.
