Ludhiana, October 26: The state taxation departments’s Ferozepur and Amritsar divisions conducted a joint raid in Marar and Kirian villages in Harike area near Tarantaran on Thursday and destroyed 85,000 litres of illicit liquor worth around Rs 50 lakh.
During the raids, the teams faced heavy resistance from the gang of liquor manufacturers who attacked the officials with bricks and swords but timely intervention by the police helped officials escape unhurt.
