CHANDIGARH, OCTOBER 21: The Punjab Governor and Administrator, UT, Chandigarh, Shri Banwarilal Purohit congratulated the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi on achieving the landmark of 100 Crore COVID-19 vaccinations in the Country.
While recalling the outbreak of Corona virus followed by the initial Covid management strategies in the country, Shri Purohit said that it was the timely decision of the lockdown along with other steps taken by the visionary Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the nation sailed through and further transmission could be prevented to some extent. Later setting an example of Aatm Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan, India not only started manufacturing its own vaccines but also supplied to other countries.
On this historic day, the Governor profusely thanked and congratulated the innovators, scientists, doctors, paramedics, NGOs and Voluntary organisations who all were involved in this massive Vaccination drive which started barely 278 days back.
Appreciating the efforts of the Punjab Government and Chandigarh Administration for the ongoing success of the Vaccination drive, the Governor said that both Punjab and Chandigarh have significantly contributed to the national vaccination mission through collective efforts. Punjab has got 2 Crore 45 lakh vaccinated till date while Chandigarh with eligible population of 843,000 has administered a total of 13,20,230.
