Integrating innovation as core objective in Medical Education: Dr. Vijay Singla

Punjab Medical Education & Research Minister Dr. Vijay Singla today admitted that integrating innovation as core objective in medical education and reasonable medical education for Economic Weaker Section (EWS) category is our main motto.

Talking about his initiatives to revive the medical education in the state, Dr. Vijay Singla said that the state government is trying hard to reduce fees of MBBS students for EWS category so as to make medical education affordable for a common meritorious students. Terming this as the need of the hour, he said that affordable medical education is like a blessing for the society besides the students as this initiative will reinforce the medical care throughout the state as well as the country.

Speaking about better upkeep and facilities at Government Medical Colleges and Hospital, the Cabinet Minister said that health and education is the core areas for our government. He added that we are trying hard to provide better health care facilities to general public especially poor patients. He also told that the financial powers of the Principal/Medical Superintendents of Medical Colleges and Hospitals will be enhanced to maintain cleanliness and upkeep of the infrastructure.

Dr. Singla also said that our state government is firmly resolved to eradicate red tapism culture from every nook and corner of the state. He said that emergency services will benefit greatly with proper provision and direct responsibility of the administrators locally.
