Jairam Thakur today sworn in as new Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh in a ceremony that was attended by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP President Amit Shah, Home Minister Rajnath Singh, BJP senior leader LK Advani as well as BJP chief ministers of other states include UP Aditya Nath.
The CM Jairam Thakur included 11 news minister but no one from Hamirpur represented by Dhumal and Bilaspur by J P Nadda in new cabinet. Out of 11 ministers, six were include first time while five have already worked as ministers in previous government. The first times who were include in cabinet include Vipin Parmar, Virender Kanwar, Vikram Singh, Govind Thakur, Rajiv Sejal, Suresh Bhardwaj.
Former CM Dhumal was CM candidate of the BJP in this elections but he suffered a major set back after he lost elections from Sujanpur segment. Even after losing elections he was hopeful. Besides Dhumal, J P Nadda was considered to be main contender in CM race. But just a day before the announcement of CM candidate, Dhumal has issued a press statement clarifying that he was not in CM race. Despite the fact that BJP high command has made it clear that CM would be elected from elected MLAs only, Nadda had projected him as main contender till last moment.
Himachal Chief Minister Jairam Thakur’s new team of eleven minister who took oath include Mahendra Singh from the Dharampur segment in Mandi district, Suresh Bhardwaj from Shimla district, Kishan Kapoor from Dharamshala in Kangra district, Anil Sharma from Mandi district, Sarveen Chowdhury from Shahpur in Kangra district, Ram Lal Markanda from Lahaul and Spiti, Vipin Singh Parmar from the Sulah constituency in Kangra district, Virendra Kanwar from Kutlehr constituency in Una district, Bikram Singh from Jaswaan Pragpur in Kangra district, Gobind Singh from Manali in Kullu district, Rajeev Saijal from Kasauli in Solan district.
