Chandigarh, November 2:
Health and Medical Education & Research Minister Chetan Singh Jauramajra on Wednesday directed all four government medical colleges to expedite availability of essential drugs at all the hospitals.
Chairing a high-level meeting here to review various projects, development works and pending demands of four government medical colleges at Patiala, Amritsar, Faridkot and Mohali, the minister directed the institutions to expedite the availability of essential drugs at all hospitals. He also reviewed the efforts being made by the department to adjust the various covid warriors who had given services during COVID.
He directed the hospitals to prepare a detailed master plan for upgradation of the facilities at the institutions for the patients and students. He stressed a time bound action to amend and draft any pending service rules. He asked the directorate to ensure timely advertisement of various direct quota posts.
It was decided to enhance the delegation of powers with the institution heads to streamline the working and cut the red tape. He asked the department to prepare a proposal for incentivising the superspecialists to attract talented doctors. He appreciated the work being done and at the same time emphasised that much more needs to be done so as to provide better facilities to the patients.
The meeting was attended by Alaknanda Dayal, Secretary Medical Education & Research, Dr Avnish Kumar, Director Health and Principals and Medical Superintendents of four government medical colleges.
