Reports of off-duty jawan abducted in Kashmir’s Budgam incorrect: Army

Srinagar, March 9: A defence spokesperson on Saturday said that the reports of an off-duty Kashmiri soldier, who was said to be abducted by suspected militants in central Kashmir’s Budgam district late Friday evening, were in correct.

He said that the soldier is safe in his unit.  Their were reports that “three armed militants barged into the house of Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry (JAK LI) soldier at Qazipora and abducted him around 9.30 pm.

The abduction took place in an area bordering south Kashmir’s Pulwama district, the reports had said.
