Jolt to Congress in Doaba, former council president joins AAP along with fellow councilors

In a major blow to the ruling Congress party in Doaba, former president of Nawanshahr municipal council, Lalit Mohan Pathak joined the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) along with his fellow councilors on Wednesday. AAP’s Punjab affairs incharge and MLA from DelhiJarnail Singh, MLA Jai Krishan Singh Rodi and party’s state general secretary Harchand Singh Barsat formally welcomed the leaders at the party headquarters here.

Welcoming Lalit Mohan Pathak and other leaders, Jarnail Singh said the ‘Delhi Model’ was a name to stop the looting of the coffers of any government and this model would replenish the coffers of Punjab. He said the people of Punjab were joining the AAP as they were impressed by the pro-people policies of the party and the work of the Arvind Kejriwal government, so that from next year the people of Punjab would also get the facilities of Delhi.

Harchand Singh Barsat said that Lalit Mohan Pathak, who has twice been the president of the Nawanshahr Municipal Council and is the current MC councilor; his fellow councilors Vinod Kumar PinkaBalwinder Kumar, former police officer and councilor Mohinder Singh and Lakhwinder Ladhar Lucky have joined the Aam Aadmi Party.
