Khaira has no inspection right, says Rana mill owner

Date:

Chandigarh, May 30: Rana Inder Partap, managing director of Rana Sugars Private Limited, on Tuesday questioned the authority of AAP leader Sukhpal Singh Khaira to inspect his mill.

Addressing the media along with farmers from different villages near the mill, Inder Partap alleged Khaira was only seeking publicity. “What was the point in his first approaching the National Green Tribunal and then coming to the mill to verify the facts,” he asked.

“It is strange he did not go to Kiri Afghana where the molasses’ spill took place and instead wanted to come to our mill, which has zero discharge,” he claimed. Inder Pratap showed videos and photographs of Rana Sugar Mill and explained how arrangements had been made to stop pollution.
