Khaira road show in Bathinda; will end feudal politics of Badals

Bathinda, March 25- Sukhpal Singh Khaira, MLA, President of Punjabi Ekta Party (PEP) and joint candidate of Punjab Democratic Alliance (PDA) from Bathinda Lok Sabha seat on Monday launched his election campaign with a massive road show from Mansa to Bathinda. He exuded confidence of winning the Bathinda seat with high margin.

Massive response to Khaira road show

The 100-km long cavalcade of Khaira road show starting from Maur culminated at Talwandi Sabo passing through Mansa and Bathinda rural areas of the constituency. In a statement, Khaira thanked the people of Bathinda and Mansa for an overwhelming response.

Khair further said that he had accepted the challenge to contest Bathinda seat to defeat Harsimrat Kaur Badal who is symbol of feudal politics of Badal family. He said that his aim was to build a fight against feudalism and family politics. He blamed Badal family for nepotism and rampant corruption. He alleged that former Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and the present incumbent Capt Amarinder Singh, both represent the same  feudal mindset.. He said that they were helping each other to rule in Punjab turn by turn.

Khaira said that Malwa region was biggest victim of Badal family. He said that Parkash Singh Badal was Chief Minister of state for five years but he failed to resolve problems of people. He added that drugs, unemployment, poverty and sufferings of peasantry were core issues. He said that only handful of families who acted as agents of Badals had gained. The condition of common people mainly the farmers of Mansa and Bathinda districts was deplorable. He said that highest number of farmer suicides are reported from Mansa and Bathinda districts. He held Badal family responsible for the distress of farming sector.

Khaira appealed to people of Bathinda Parliamentary constituency to support him to bring to an end the autocratic control of Badal family in Punjab politics. He said that Badal family was real danger to the democracy as they are real culprits of bringing mafia culture in the state. He said that Capt Amarinder Singh government was only an extension of Badal’s rule and on ground nothing has changed. He added  that it was right opportunity to teach lesson to Badal and Captain.

He said that Harsimrat Badal had failed to set up any major industry in the Malwa region though she was a minister for food at the Centre. He said that she had also failed to take up issues of Punjab farmers and rising unemployment with the BJP led NDA government of Narender Modi.  He added that Harsimrat Badal had failed the people of Punjab and her focus was only to build family fortunes. Her wealth had grown manifold during last five years.  Khaira added that Harsimrat Kaur Badal has her genetic roots in Majithia family and her great-grandfather had thrown a dinner in honour of General Dyer after the Jallianwala Bagh massacre in 1919.

Khaira said that PEP will fill the political vacuum in the state and provide a better alternative to the people of state. He said that people of Punjab were fed up from SAD-BJP alliance and Congress government. He said that massive response to road show had boosted the morale of PEP workers.
