Amritsar, December 28: A school principal, who was purportedly seen in a ‘sleazy’ video with Chief Khalsa Diwan (CKD) president Charanjit Singh Chadha, has accused him of sexual harassment.
In a communiqué to DGP Suresh Arora, she accused Chadha of making sexual advances. “He tried to do indecent acts with me. When I refused, he threatened me, citing his proximity to the powers that be during the SAD-BJP rule,” she wrote. About the video, she claimed that she was leaving the office when he called her back on the pretext of clicking a selfie.
The woman said she had studied in a CKD school and started her career as a teacher about 22 years ago. She was now working as a principal in a CKD school.
Meanwhile, CKD members appointed Dhanraj Singh as the officiating head after Chadha refused to resign despite protests. Dhanraj is also holding the charge of senior vice president the over century-old Sikh educational body. He said the video row would be taken up in the executive committee meeting of the Diwan.
Chadha has already claimed that the video was doctored and was made viral to defame him. He said he had already lodged a complaint with the police that some blackmailers were trying to extort Rs 1 crore from him. Later, Chadha stated that all female staff members in the schools run by the CKD were his “daughters”.
Meanwhile, some Sikh leaders today submitted memoranda, asking Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh to summon Chadha and remove him from the Diwan.
