Kotkapura MLA, ADC spar over fund ‘misuse’

Date:

Faridkot, March 8: A verbal duel took place between AAP Kotkapura MLA Kultar Singh and Faridkot Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Kesav Hingonia today.

The MLA, leading a delegation, had gone to the DC office to submit a memorandum regarding the alleged misuse of MGNREGA funds in several villages of the district. As the DC was on leave, the delegation went to the ADC.

The protesters were made to wait by the officer for some time, which irked them. Later while submitting the memorandum, Kultar Singh told the ADC to act swiftly on the complaint about irregularities.

This led to an argument between the two. While the MLA said he was part of the government, the officer said the government was the CM and “you are an MLA, that’s it”.

The ADC finally left his office. Kultar Singh and his supporters then raised slogans against him. “I have submitted a complaint to Vidhan Sabha Speaker Rana KP Singh,” said Hingonia, accusing the MLA of using foul language against him.

Kultar Singh said he would also raise the matter with the Speaker and complain about the attitude of the officer. “Such indecent behaviour of a public servant is unwarranted. He threatened me to get out of his office,” he alleged.
