Ladi Sherowalia Case: Probe ordered into video footage of SHO Mehatpur

Chandigarh, May 7: The controversy over filing of FIR against Congress candidate for Shahkot Assembly bypoll has turned murkier with alleged activities of the concerned SHO coming under scanner.

The case on Sunday took an interesting turn with CCTV footage of the SHO Parminder Singh Bajwa telecast by TV Channel News 18.

The SHO is shown to be in company of a woman at a 5-star hotel at Jalandhar hours before he registered an FIR against the Congress candidate Laddi Sherowalia on the charge of alleged sand mining.

The case was registered on May 4 at 4.25 am after the Election Commission sought report from state election authorities after receiving a complaint against Sherowalia.

As per the CCTV footage, the SHO had checked in the hotel at past midnight the same day. The room number 306 was reportedly booked in the name of the SHO.
